The Altstadthalle in Zug is located in the heart of the old town, directly on Lake Zug.
It is very easy to reach. From the Zug railway bridge, simply walk along Bahnhofstrasse in the direction of the lake. After a few minutes you will reach the Altstadthalle, which is located on the right-hand side. It is also easy to reach by public transport. The "Altstadt" bus stop is just a few minutes' walk away on Grabenstrasse.

Fascinating history of the house
The Altstadthalle is an imposing building with a long and eventful history.
It was built in 1427/28 by the town of Zug and is still owned by them today. The ground floor of the house is hall-like and was originally used as a granary. Grain was delivered, transported, bought and sold in this large, high-ceilinged room.
In 1530, the town of Zug built a larger granary on St Oswalds Gasse. The old storage area in Unteraltstadt became too small and was initially used as a depot for other goods. In 1892, the fishing museum was opened in the building. Today, the museum is located in the lakeside extension of the old town hall and displays the history of fishing in the canton of Zug.
From 1916/18, the hall on the ground floor was used as a pub, which was very popular. From 1976/77 to 1990, the Kornhaus was used by the Zug Art Society as an art centre. During this time, numerous exhibitions of contemporary art were organised in the Altstadthalle.
Today, the Altstadthalle is a cultural centre for the city of Zug. It is used for various events, including concerts, theatre performances and exhibitions.
